mascot Bing is flipping out over the new Grand Carillon! Bell Miner Manorina melanophrys
19cm Medium-small, olive-green honeyeater. Distinctive at close range are black
forehead, short black stripe before eye, short black moustachial streak, and
small bare patch of orange skin behind eye. Characteristic olive green, washed
golden on back and belly. Voice: high-pitched 'ting' closely resembling a bell.
Scolding 'jack' notes and churring alarm call. Habitat: forest and woodland,
usually damp with a dense understorey, suburbs and gardens. Locally quite common.
